Scratch Game Design

User experience helped improve my game many ways. One way is that the user helped me think if the sprites were moving to fast or to slow. Also, the user helped me to keep the sprites enjoyable. Finally, our user's experience help me to know if my game is bug-free. My user's experience helped me to improve my game and make it bug-free.

My chase game, (above) has many features. Like, the two different sprites, squirrel and the dog. My second feature is the background. I have four backdrops, the tree, lake, forest, and the blue sky. Another feature that my game has are the sound effects. Every time, I score a point a pixie dust sound appears. Also, when you win the game a crowd cheering sound plays. My platformer game, also above, has features, too. Some are the backdrops and characters. These are some of the features of the video games above.

My chase game had little code, but my platformer game had more complex code. My most difficult bug fix, was probably having the gravity on my platformer game, realistic. Also, in my chase game, a bug that I had to fix was when the score would just keep adding, like when the dog first touched the squirrel, the score would minus like, 123. I fixed this by making the score wait 1 second after the dog touched the squirrel.

Invention Commercial

P3T2_Invention from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

We had many team goals. One of our main team goals, was to keep the audience entertained and to help keep the commercial from making the audience bored. Another goal that we had in mind, was to make our product unique and unlike any other product. We had this as a goal because if our product was not unique, than no one would want to watch our commercial. My team and I, had many goals in mind, and those are a few of them.

Our best team moment was probably when we went outside and played volleyball, after our filming was complete. This was our best team moment because we learned things about each other that we never knew about. We also got to spend time together. Another reason why this was our greatest team moment, is because by doing this and learning more about each other, we got to learn how to edit using our own little touches. Another team moment that was kind of the same, was when we jumped on the trampoline, also after our filming.

During our post-production editing, we all had different parts to help with. Kaile McKeown put the b-roll in order, put in visual effects, and  imported. Danielle Gunn decided what voice overs we needed to retake and helped to import. I put in the sound and color effects. We all had a part during our post-production editing and because we all had parts, we were successful.

Composition Scavenger Hunt

I think the most important composition technique is Unusual Angles because it different. Not only is it different, but it is also special. Since Unusual Angles is different, it makes the audience feel interested or excited. Finally Unusual Angles is the most important because it makes the audience want to keep looking and see more. There are many different compositions, but I think Unusual Angles is the most important.

The most challenging composition technique is leading lines. I think this because it is hard to find lines that begin at the camera's eye, and ends at the subject. Also because to have leading lines you need to have the lines that begin at the person's eyes or camera. This is hard cause when you film the lines they normally come from all different directions. I can use this more when I am wanting people to focus on the main subject.

My teammates are Kaile McKeown, Danielle Gunn, and me. Kaile is the one who came up with our name, Quick Flip, and she acted as the mother in our commercial. She also edited our commercial plan. Danielle composition techniques and the shots for our commercial. Danielle is also playing as a family friend in our commercial. I helped coming up with the composition techniques and the shots. Also, I will mostly be behind the camera, but I also am playing as the daughter in our commercial. We all helped to make our commercial plan.
