Scratch Game Design

User experience helped improve my game many ways. One way is that the user helped me think if the sprites were moving to fast or to slow. Also, the user helped me to keep the sprites enjoyable. Finally, our user's experience help me to know if my game is bug-free. My user's experience helped me to improve my game and make it bug-free.

My chase game, (above) has many features. Like, the two different sprites, squirrel and the dog. My second feature is the background. I have four backdrops, the tree, lake, forest, and the blue sky. Another feature that my game has are the sound effects. Every time, I score a point a pixie dust sound appears. Also, when you win the game a crowd cheering sound plays. My platformer game, also above, has features, too. Some are the backdrops and characters. These are some of the features of the video games above.

My chase game had little code, but my platformer game had more complex code. My most difficult bug fix, was probably having the gravity on my platformer game, realistic. Also, in my chase game, a bug that I had to fix was when the score would just keep adding, like when the dog first touched the squirrel, the score would minus like, 123. I fixed this by making the score wait 1 second after the dog touched the squirrel.

Invention Commercial

P3T2_Invention from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

We had many team goals. One of our main team goals, was to keep the audience entertained and to help keep the commercial from making the audience bored. Another goal that we had in mind, was to make our product unique and unlike any other product. We had this as a goal because if our product was not unique, than no one would want to watch our commercial. My team and I, had many goals in mind, and those are a few of them.

Our best team moment was probably when we went outside and played volleyball, after our filming was complete. This was our best team moment because we learned things about each other that we never knew about. We also got to spend time together. Another reason why this was our greatest team moment, is because by doing this and learning more about each other, we got to learn how to edit using our own little touches. Another team moment that was kind of the same, was when we jumped on the trampoline, also after our filming.

During our post-production editing, we all had different parts to help with. Kaile McKeown put the b-roll in order, put in visual effects, and  imported. Danielle Gunn decided what voice overs we needed to retake and helped to import. I put in the sound and color effects. We all had a part during our post-production editing and because we all had parts, we were successful.

Composition Scavenger Hunt

I think the most important composition technique is Unusual Angles because it different. Not only is it different, but it is also special. Since Unusual Angles is different, it makes the audience feel interested or excited. Finally Unusual Angles is the most important because it makes the audience want to keep looking and see more. There are many different compositions, but I think Unusual Angles is the most important.

The most challenging composition technique is leading lines. I think this because it is hard to find lines that begin at the camera's eye, and ends at the subject. Also because to have leading lines you need to have the lines that begin at the person's eyes or camera. This is hard cause when you film the lines they normally come from all different directions. I can use this more when I am wanting people to focus on the main subject.

My teammates are Kaile McKeown, Danielle Gunn, and me. Kaile is the one who came up with our name, Quick Flip, and she acted as the mother in our commercial. She also edited our commercial plan. Danielle composition techniques and the shots for our commercial. Danielle is also playing as a family friend in our commercial. I helped coming up with the composition techniques and the shots. Also, I will mostly be behind the camera, but I also am playing as the daughter in our commercial. We all helped to make our commercial plan.

Cracking the Code

I personally think that everyone should learn to code. Many cool jobs need people who know how to code. You can do almost anything with coding. If no one knew how to code there would almost no new inventions. Where would our world still be with almost no inventions. Everyone should learn how to code, for these and many more reasons.

My first experience working with code, was when me and the rest of my GT class had to download our humorous monologue from----- to my blog post. This used coding because I needed to copy a download code and paste the code into my HTML. It wasn't that challenging because all I needed to do was copy and paste something. Still, this experience will help me when I am trying to download, transport, or import.

“If I could design any program or game,” I would design a game were different contests. Someone would log onto their account and other people could invite them to have a contest. The contests could consist of baking, soccer, football, and many more. Every time you win a contest, you would get a point. You would save up the points and win different prizes. “If I could design any program or game,” this is what it would be.

My Humorous Monologue

In our GT class we are making a "Humorous Monologue." I have learned many things while making my Humorous Monologue. One of the things I learned about responsibility. Like when I had to check out a camera and return it the next day with B-Roll. That's another thing I learned about, B-Roll. Before I didn't even know what B-Roll was until the other day when my teacher told us that B-Roll is the videos that show on top of another video. Finally, I learned about Importing videos and images to iMovie. It took me a while, but I finally learned how to import. These are only some of the things that I learned while making my Humorous Monologue.

Pad is when you say 3,2,1,action, or cut, and things like that. Padding my clips is  crucial because it makes it so that your voice, image, or video is not cut off. It is important that your voice, image, or video is not cut off because then it would not complete the topic. For example, my favorite color...
Padding is important whenever you are making some sort of video or recording someones voice.

My biggest weakness, while making my Humorous Monologue, was probably coming up with the idea that I was going to base my joke off of. A way that I can improve is figuring out who is my auddiance, and what is a topic that will make them laugh. My class gave me a three because I finished it, even though it was't perfect. One of my biggest strengths was that I finished all ten of my B-Roll clips on time. This helped me finish and complete my project on time. I had both strengths and weaknesses on this project.

    Comedy Writing

Right now I am at school in one of my favorite classes, GT. Currently we are making a humorous narrative. A sense of humor is important as a character trait. For example, if you are humorous you are most likely a happy and funny person. Everyone likes funny and happy people. Also, if you  have a sense of humor, it is really easy to make someone smile, no matter how sad or sour someone might be. Next, everyone likes a good laugh. If you are funny, many people will like you. Finally, having a sense of humor is just a good character trait to have just like being happy.

Writing a humorous narrative is very hard. Here are 5 simple steps to help make it easier. First, you should write something that the reader can relate to. Second, use descriptive yet funny words, like gushy. Also everyone likes random. You could also add smaller jokes in with the big overall jokes. Finally, you should usually have your last line be the funniest line . I hope these steps will help make it easier to write a humorous narrative.

Coming up with my comedic monologue idea was really hard. I figured out the idea one day while my teacher, Mr. Sander , was talking about one of his students writing a sarcastic joke about braces.  I think I am a sarcastic person and personally I think sarcasm can be really funny. My comedic monologue is funny because, as I said, it's sarcastic. I guess school is okay but not GREAT. Then school lunches look like fake food and not like what it is supposed to look like. In my comedic monologue I say, "The lunch ladies gave pudding even when the menu said they were serving turkey sandwiches." I said this, but really it looks kinda like turkey sandwiches. This is what my joke is about and why I think it is funny.

    Motivational Poster

To make the Motivational Poster we had to make layers. First, was the design which started with kerning. I used kerning with making both my text layers fill the whole page with no gaps. Then there is the triadic color scheme, which is when there is 1 dominant color that is harmoniously balanced with 2 accent colors on a color wheel. Next, I had to use visual balance, which is equal distribution of visual weight for artistic appeal. Finally, I had to use the blending option for both my text layers and the adjustment for all 4 of my image layers. These are all the requirements we had to have to make a Motivational poster.

We had many steps that we needed to follow in order to complete our Motivational Poster. First, I needed to make and kern my personal quotes. Next, I needed to make and also kern my manifesto. Then, I downloaded three personal symbols and a portrait of my face. With those pictures I organized them to make visual balance. Last, but not least, I used triadic color scheme to help create my lettering more colorful. These are the steps I took in order to complete my Motivational Poster.

The biggest challenge I had while making my motivational poster was probably kerning. I overcame it by testing tools out. Also, I tried out things and focused on using the tools that I learned. By using the left side tool it made it easier to kern because it made it so I only needed to kern one side of my Personal Quotes and Manifesto. Next time I am going to take it slow and practice so I can improve. My biggest challenge was kerning but I overcame it.

    Personal Manifesto

My name is Meah. Five interesting/unique facts about my current self are that I love
playing soccer. I am currently playing HYSA and AYSO. Also, I like going to the beach with my family and friends. Next, going hiking with my family is one of my favorite things to do. Whether it's in the forest or up in the mountains, I love it. If you know me, you know I love wearing colorful jeans. I have orange, pink, blue, white, and many more. Finally, I can be quiet and shy or wild and crazy. I am Meah.

Life's to short, live like there's no tomorrow. Risk it all. Every day is a new day. Be brave. Hope. Believe. NEVER EVER give up. Laugh often. When you fall, laugh at yourself. Speak up. Do it. Bring it all. Be gentle but powerful. Normal is boring, show yourself. Bring 110% everywhere.

My manifesto is helpful in your life because it can help keep you going in life, even when times are rough. Next, my manifesto supposed to be inspiring and help you in life. Like when your worrying or are about to give up. Finally, my manifesto can motivate you to make a manifesto of your own and post it so other people can read it and be inspired. I hope that my manifesto will help you as well as many others.
